When Words Are Both Too Much and Too Little

I recognize that furrowed brow.My status as a writer doesn’t mean that it’s easy for me to write. In fact, my ability to work with words sometimes makes the writing more complicated. It becomes encumbered with how I will say a thing and my responsibility to the words and to my audience. I find myself encountering the reality that words sometimes should not be said, that silence should be allowed to reign.

My Little Loves

I'm not sure it's a good thing that that cord has been bent into the shape of a heart.Today’s post is in response to Jason Konopinski’s “The Things I Love,” but the title is stolen from my friend Leilani Carrasco Smith. She publishes a semi-regular series of posts entitled “My Little Loves,” and she includes things ranging from her mascara to the brush she uses on her cats. Both posts allow Jason’s and Leilani’s readers to get to know them, which is the primary point of the posts. Talking about one’s loves often is more enlightening than talking about what one does.
