The new year tends to be the time when people make resolutions and changes. I’ve never been one for making resolutions – I view them as empty promises – so the changes I’ll be implementing at Write Right actually have their start in November. I’ve delayed announcing the changes because of the holidays and some final details.
The changes aren’t anything major. The site isn’t being redesigned. I’m not changing the color scheme. I’m not getting rid of the Write Right girl in the logo. What I am doing is updating the “Work with Me” page. I never liked listing my prices, so I’m deleting those. I’m also changing the services some. I’ll focus more on editing, but it will be a type of editing that incorporates some teaching and coaching strategies. I’ll also have some copywriting options, but I have decided to be picky in choosing projects. It narrows my potential client list considerably, but I have learned the hard way that specificity is better than generality.
I’m updating the tagline, too. “Writing coaching and consulting” isn’t doing the trick. I’m not convinced it adequately describes the aim of Write Right. I need something that better conveys my purpose. A related item is the site’s title. It will be changed to complement the tagline and to be more SEO friendly.
All those changes will take place this weekend. They won’t take long, unlike some of the CSS with which I’ve tinkered. They will, however, get me and Write Right ready for the new year, a year I hope will be big and filled with changes.
