Two Methods for Titling Blog Posts

Write RightWhen it comes to titles, two broad categories exist: descriptive and suggestive. Descriptive titles are what they say they are. They describe the topic of the post, and they do so clearly and succinctly. Suggestive titles are hooks; that is, they lure a reader into reading more either through a provocative statement, a particular attitude, or some sort of ambiguity.

Ingenious Title, Where Are You?

You often have to wade through frustration to find the title you need.I hate titling my works. While I often begin a draft for a blog post with a title, I may edit the title more than I edit the post. My poems begin without titles. I get the words on the page, then I worry about a title.

Maybe I Need to Change My Perspective

Maybe I need bifocals.I decided to pose my question about freelancing and entrepreneurship* on various social networks. I’ve received a variety of responses. Some of them have been detailed and included links to the Small Business Administration and other resources. Other responders have argued that freelancers are entrepreneurs and suggested that my problem is one of perception.

I Dub Myself…

Would this knight dub himself?I, for the most part, find titles to be silly things.* I don’t mind when they’re given to me, but it’s a little harder when I have to give myself one. I wish I didn’t have to do it. I would rather let my work speak for itself.
