MailChimp: One of many e-letter platforms.A few weeks ago, I overheard two women in a coffee shop talking about e-letters. One of the women said, “I don’t care all that much about the content in my business’ e-letters. It’s the touch point that matters. You know, keeping the business’ name in front of people.” I was more than a little aghast at the statement, but what was I to do? They were on their way out the door, and I was waiting on my latte. Besides, I doubt they would have looked kindly on an eavesdropper, and I didn’t have a good argument at the ready.

It’s good for absolutely everything. On a pragmatic level, it facilitates responses and productivity. On a personable level, it ensures understanding and respect.

Email Etiquette: A Dying Art?

Email etiquette: Is it that difficult?I probably should not write this post because people are going to become afraid to email me. Some people already are afraid to post on my Facebook page. They think they’ll make a grammatical error, and I’ll attack them with my red pen. I’ve tried to explain that isn’t the case; I want people to ask grammar questions so that I can answer them. I never meant for my “Write Right” series to strike the fear of the red pen into people.
