This Matters: Church Community

October 5, 2016 By Erin Beasley

“Committing to a local church is all about love.” — Tyler David, The Austin Stone

Tyler David continues, “Love is the glue of the Christian life.” Paul preaches the same message in Colossians 3:12-4 (NASB).

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;

bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.

Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.

As a daughter chosen by God, I am to love the way he loves, and his love encompasses the qualities found above. His love means sacrificial giving and commitment to the other person’s good, no matter the cost to myself.
