In brief: I am a writer, editor, poet, and artist. I am the person behind Write Right, a business dedicated to helping you tell your story primarily through the written word. I help you tell that story through an emphasis on writing right (I believe you have to know the rules before you can break them.) and creativity. Stories can be told in a variety of ways. Words are one way. Images are another.
More in-depth: I have my MFA in creative writing and my BA in English and graphic design. I used those skills when I was employed as a communications specialist and when I freelanced. The more I worked, though, the more I realized that a disconnect existed between creative writing and professional writing. The practices lauded in writing and English classes seemed to be forgotten in the professional world. I found myself slogging through jargon-filled communications or writings so devoid of creativity that they could have put the most hyper person to sleep. I decided something needed to be done, so I gave voice to my concerns and ideas. I started to write about them. I even started to draw about them.
My work history is varied, perhaps because of living in a recession-ridden world. I have documented most of that history at my online portfolio. It demonstrates my abilities to work with a variety of companies and organizations, including for-profits and non-profits.
